I
have been looking for a suitable project for this theme for since 3 years ago
but so far no progression yet. But I
don't mind starting a project with this theme in a smaller manner .... let me start with a shorter story version first ...

Sunbonnet Sue Bucket Applique Handbag PDF pattern available now !
It is December now, rainy season in Malaysia. Rainy day is always romantic and don’t know why
tropical rain always give me such warmful feeling. This bag project theme was derived from rainy season.
Finally, it is completed.
Below is the back side of the bag
The interior, I love to use different fabrics for the interior of my bag, it really add more character and personnel touch to a handmade bag. The interior has a big pocket to put handy goodies like my subway card or keys.
I can also add a clip on leather handles to turn this bag into a shoulder bag too. Now it's a tote bag ! ^v^

Almost done !
I have been finding solution for the handle of this
project. Am thinking a way to present it
and can use in multiple way, besides that, the size and design of this handle
have to be cute !
Searching through my fabric cabinets for the Japanese sakizome (taupe) right fabric pattern and color, finally this one helps ! phew !!
Next is the shape of the handle. To be frank, when designing a new bag pattern, one needs to put in lots of time from designing to completing a beautiful bag. It is a big challenge, imagine you need to start from scratch, from a piece of paper, to making the pattern and to making the bag. No wonder designers are paid pretty good price for their works.
Of course for
me over here, the most important thing is, you get something really unique and
you don’t see a lot of people carrying almost the same bag as yours. That makes you so proud, agree ?
I think I should be able to complete this project
tomorrow. Yahoo !!

Sunbonnet Sue Round basket bag pattern in my Etsy !
19/11/2014, started working from early in the morning
Finally, I managed to pull myself back to the working mood again, my heart was still with Paris last week.
Ok, I finally appliqué
the other side of my new project. It’s a cozy house with
heartwarming trees. I am not going to appliqué the front road or the
field this time, I think I want to embroider a little details
here. Am still trying to think hard for the embroidery details I
want to present the field. Will see !
20/11/2014, Shopping day !!!
I just want to stop from work, if not, i am afraid I may become anti-social lady soon, i am just too addicted to working. My husband encouraged me to go shopping to relax myself, yeah, I guess he reminded me that I haven't been doing any shopping for so long. So am sneaking out for some shopping.
I love Kinokuniya bookstore, sometimes I can just stand there and reading the books for many hours. There are just too many books to read ! Am adding up these 3 books for my library collection. I think I have more books than clothes compared to other ladies. Is it normal ??
21/11/2014, Done with my quilting !
Finally, all the quilting details are added to my project. Hmmm... it's just so romantic ! Time to bind them together

Trip to Paris, Oct 2014
To me, Paris is a city of color and art with
locals loving their nostalgic surroundings. The old vintage homes were re-used
and re-design to such beautiful and romantic taste, the design concepts are
still widely used in the modern world. It is also a city of love, it is so
romantic during day and night.
When you first come to Paris, shopping shouldn't be your priority here because you will never know it better. Go to the flea market, talk to the people and walk around the entire Paris as much as you can, you will surely get to know this city better.
Parisians are friendly and polite. Chat with them with polite tone, greet a little 'boujour' to the passersby, they will greet you warmly too. A 'merci beaucoup' to show your appreciation of their help. You will surely get very positive respond from them.
Foods and patisserie desserts are really delicate
made and delicious. We just love to try
as many things as possible. Temptations
seemed to every where in Paris.
We took many photos during this trip to Paris,
here are some of them, at that moment.
^v^
Overall, our first experience was really great and happy. We hope to visit Paris again, of course !
I love all the flavors, what about you ?

Story Quilt's classic vintage clutch purse and pattern
I noticed that a lot of Japanese ladies love to
use pretty good size and cute clutch purse when they are having their leisure
outings. The size of the purse is
normally big enough to put some cosmetic items such as lipstick and compact
powder, money and personnel document, and maybe a smartphone too. It’s light and easy to carry around. I like the idea so much (especially when I have shoulder pain sometimes).
With simple twist in the fabrics and clutch
frame used, I am able to change the style of the clutch purse to suit my
occasion. Since I have got nice rosy
vintage fabric, I prefer to make a vintage clutch purse today. Hmmm …. Size wise , I have a few 12.5cm
clutch frame, let met start with that size of clutch purse.
With just 3 pieces of fabrics for FRONT and INNER sides, and fusible interface or iron on batting and 12.5cm clutch frame, I am able to start my clutch purse project already. This project is just perfect for friends with all level of sewing skills. And for friends with beginner sewing skill, it is advisable for you to try out clutch purse project, you will surely learn a lot of technique here.
Here is the result of my work, if you are fast enough, you can complete this within the day. Hope you like my work ^v^
It has a larger opening and good size to put
quite a number of goodies
It is also a way to decorate your dressing
table too. I love the idea of making bag
not only for daily use but also, I want it to be a decorative item at home.

Bonjour Paris !! Eiffel Tower Zakka Style Cushion Cover for beginner available in my Etsy
I have been taking these 2 fabrics in and out from my fabric closet many times and always put them back when I can't find any "solution" to the fabrics at all. And quite luckily, I have got idea to "solve my problem" these few days, without much hesitation, I started to design and sew them within the same day.
Since I have some request
from FB friends to make something nice and easy for beginners from time to time. I decided to make this cushion into my beginner level pattern.

sewing, it doesn't mean that you can’t make something as cute as those beautiful cushion displayed on the commercial windows. Take

Sunbonnet Sue & Missing chicken handbag
A-ha !! Found
these photos in my hard disk. This
Sunbonnet Sue and missing chicken handbag was actually my old work back in
2011. Back at that time, I difficulty
accessing to blogspot from Shanghai, In the end, I no longer do any
blogging. So since I “meet” these
project photos again, I want to share them in my blog.
I like this scene so much, it’s nolstagic and heart
warming and I remember that was my second project in machine applique. Take a look at the expression of little
chicken there. The angle of its eyes was
really a hard one and I remembered sweating a little when sewing the eyes ^v^
hahah….. can’t help laughing just to think of that moment. It was really a big “phew” after completion.
Apart from that the shape of the bag is pretty unique too. It may look small in the eye but you will be surprise that it can actually put quite a number of goodies (one of my biggest criteria when making bag too). My only regret here is I never thought of making pattern for this one that time … (~n~). Any way, it’s just so great to see this bag again.
I always want to add more surprises to my bag
projects, see the bag side of the bag, apart from a beautiful quilted pattern,
I added a little pretty Lily of the valley applique. I love this flower so much and went searching
for the flower language. It said “Return of happiness, purity of heart,
sweetness, tears of the Virgin Mary, you've made my life complete, humility,
happiness, love's good fortune. The legend of the lily of the valley is that it
sprang from Eve's tears when she was kicked out of the Garden of Eden. It is
also believed that this flower protects gardens from evil spirits. Also known
as the flower of May.” What a perfect match of floral
language for this bag. So it was added to my bag.
What is the story of this bag, I will leave it for you to
tell ^v^
