A nice craft book to introduce to you.

 If you are looking for a good craft book to make some very simple yet cute homespun style projects, maybe this is quite a good to refer to.

This book is written in Chinese language. I believe if you have knowledge in bag making, you won’t find language is a boundary here.  Every bag pattern has its own template and picture illustrated instruction that is quite easy to follow.

This DIY pattern has a good collection of 34 small projects in picture illustrated step-by-step instructions. Each patterns will have it's own template. I find it quite suitable for handmade crafters at all levels.

Here are some of the bags and craft projects it covers.

* pin cushions
* coin purses
* pencil cases or cosmetic pouches
* hand bag
* draw string bag
* purses and clutch purses
* Key holder or key purses
* wall hanging applique

Sunbonnet Sue Bucket Applique Handbag PDF pattern available now !

It is December now, rainy season in Malaysia.  Rainy day is always romantic and don’t know why tropical rain always give me such warmful feeling.  This bag project theme was derived from rainy season.

Finally, it is completed.

 Below is the back side of the bag

 The interior, I love to use different fabrics for the interior of my bag, it really add more character and personnel touch to a handmade bag.  The interior has a big pocket to put handy goodies like my subway card or keys.

 I can also add a clip on leather handles to turn this bag into a shoulder bag too.  Now it's a tote bag !  ^v^

Bonjour Paris !! Eiffel Tower Zakka Style Cushion Cover for beginner available in my Etsy

I have been taking these 2 fabrics in and out from my fabric closet many times and always put them back when I can't find any "solution" to the fabrics at all.  And quite luckily, I have got idea to "solve my problem" these few days, without much hesitation, I started to design and sew them within the same day.

Since I have some request from FB friends to make something nice and easy for beginners from time to time.  I decided to make this cushion into my beginner level pattern.

If you are new to sewing, it doesn't mean that you can’t make something as cute as those beautiful cushion displayed on the commercial windows.  Take my new Boujour Paris cushion cover pattern as an example, you will surely be amazed that you can actually make it easily.

The pattern is definitely a good learning exercise for you and most of all, you are going to get a nice and stylish cushion to brighten up your room.

A little introduction to zakka, : Zakka is a fashion and design phenomenon originate from Japan.  Zakka refers to everything and anything that improves your home, life and appearance.  It can range from goodies collected from other countries, from modern colorful goodies to antiques, from kawaii (cute) to  vintage etc).

Puffy Shabby Chic Clutch Purse

I really love clutch purses since i was a little kid.  When I grow older and exposed myself to bag making, I foundwith a simple clutch frame, based on their size and shape,  you can really make beautiful purses , all you need to do is to design it.  I am making this one as a start for my clutch purses project.   I believe slowly I will be designing more and more clutch purses from Japanese country style purses to vintage design like this one.   ^v^

Here is the back of the purse.  I chose to use different fabric for the back side of the purse because it adds more color to the purse body.  Apart from that, the corsage of my clutch purse is detachable, I can simple attach it to the front and back of my purse whenever I wish.  This idea creates more room for me to use the purse (I don't have to keep looking at the same purse all the time :p)

This little beginner project is really simple to make, probably you can finish it within a day if you are fast enough.    Here it is, my Shabby Chic Puffy clutch purse.

Besides the purse pattern, I also showed you how to making simple corsage as shown in the photos below.

Zakka style needle book PDF sewing pattern

Here is a little suggestion for you, if you are planning to make a needle book, always think of the size and some compartments or pockets for your sewing items.

I love Japanese zakka style concept all the time.  So for this needle book, I am going to make something with vintage look yet zakka style.  Apart from serving 1 purpose, I also want my needle book to be a decorative item in my studio.

Here is what I made, Petite Fleur 3 D flower needle book.   Hope you will like it

Feel free to visit my Etsy shop for the pattern ^v^
It's a way to decorate my little studio and using this way, I don't have to locate my needle book which is hiding in the piling fabrics anymore  ^v^

There are all together 6 pages in the needle book, with 2 pockets at the front and back pages. The pockets can be used to store the scissors and other sewing items, ribbons, buttons etc
Sewing technique required :  ladder stitch (hidden stitch) and hand applique technique

I also love to label the pages because I always messed up my needle type.  So labeling helps me organize my needle easily.  Embroidery needles go to embroidery page, sewing needles go to sewing needle page etc ^u^

Hope you love my idea of needle book and enjoy making one for yourself soon ^^

Ready to send to Sophia

My pencil case project was finished 4 days ago.  I really love the romantic presentation, little Sue blowing the dandelion seeds in the wind is always one of my favorite them.

I sew the letter ' Especially for Sophia' at the back in the beginning but found this a bit dull, adding a little fabric stamp will make this present looks more special.  Sending to you, with all my best wishes ^^.

The size  measures 21cm (width) x 12 cm (Height).

 Can't wait to send it out today ^^
