Belle Moi (Beautiful me) Appliqued piggy pouch.

Belle Moi in French simply means beautiful me. 

I have been looking for the simplest word to express one self.  We are all beautiful creature of God.  Agree ?

This pouch was started from an exciting heart of little piggy, dressing up nicely, waiting for good thing to come.  You know, if you feel happy every day, you will be surprised good things actually come towards you, and you can’t stop it.

After making this appliqué, I tried to look for the simplest way to express little piggy’s feeling.  Yes !  Beautiful me !  It’s so simple and yet so powerful.  It can simply motivate you to be more confident and happier.  That’s it !  Am sewing it up ! 

Voila!!  It’s magic, looking at how this wonderful embroidery feels my heart now.  I am so happy for the result.

Story Quilt's classic vintage clutch purse and pattern

I noticed that a lot of Japanese ladies love to use pretty good size and cute clutch purse when they are having their leisure outings.  The size of the purse is normally big enough to put some cosmetic items such as lipstick and compact powder, money and personnel document, and maybe a smartphone too.  It’s light and easy to carry around.  I like the idea so much (especially when I have shoulder pain sometimes).

With simple twist in the fabrics and clutch frame used, I am able to change the style of the clutch purse to suit my occasion.  Since I have got nice rosy vintage fabric, I prefer to make a vintage clutch purse today.  Hmmm …. Size wise , I have a few 12.5cm clutch frame, let met start with that size of clutch purse.

With just 3 pieces of fabrics for FRONT and INNER sides, and fusible interface or iron on batting and 12.5cm clutch frame, I am able to start my clutch purse project already. This project is just perfect for friends with all level of sewing skills.  And for friends with beginner sewing skill, it is advisable for you to try out clutch purse project, you will surely learn a lot of technique here.

Here is the result of my work, if you are fast enough, you can complete this within the day.  Hope you like my work ^v^

It has a larger opening and good size to put quite a number of goodies 

It is also a way to decorate your dressing table too.  I love the idea of making bag not only for daily use but also, I want it to be a decorative item at home.

Owls, owls, My Love !!!

I followed my husband to Shenzhen for work few weeks ago.  It was really a good feeling to revisit the old place we worked few years ago.  Shenzhen changed a lot, very organised and clean nowadays.

Enjoying my time in the Shenzhen biggest bookstore, looking for ideas.  It was great to relax from work.

Since I am not working at all, I will use my time to sketch something funny from time to time.  Before I realised, I was actually drawing a little owl for fun, owls are really cute animal, they came in so many types, from very cute to very wield faces.  Then I decided to sketch something for a clutch purse.  Having a owl shape clutch purse is really something special compared to conventional type.  What about a little funny expression.....

Gee..... I really love the facial expression.  I am sure people will feel very surprise to see a clutch purse like this one.

9/12/2011, flying back to Shanghai.  After cleaning up the house, I started to design pattern for my little friends, started working on my  clutches the next day.  Hmm... as usual, I will come up with 3 designs only.  It wasn't easy to design something new, I needed to cut out unused fabrics, make a sample, readjusting the shape etc.  Finally, I got my pattern ready.  Time to make the real one tomorrow.      

I completed the 3 series few days ago, I just love them all......they are so so so cute !!!! They are definitely very unique gift for your love one  ^v^

 Introducing   :   Timi, Smarto, Mitty.

So who was the one who started this ? They are all finger pointing each other ...... 

Let's start with Mitty, the first one I made.  Mitty has very easy going nature, as a result, it has a lot of friends to play with.  

Take a closer look underneath its left wing, a little friend is hiding under there.  Mitty always love to give surprises to people  ^v^

What is it made of ? Imported Japanese sakizome fabrics is used because the fabric is thick.  It is also padded and quilted.  and hold the shape well.  

Process :   A lot of process involved in the ears, tail, eye and mouth appliques.  It was pretty troublesome to stitch them to the clutch.
