Step 1
At the RS of the last piece of Body Lining Panel,
· Measure 3.0” from
the top raw edge of centre seam. Mark the position of the zipper
· Using the Zip
Pocket template, centre the zipper position (the rectangle) onto marked point
as shown in photo on the right
Step 2
· transfer the zipper position onto RS of bag lining piece
Step 4.
With both Bag Body Lining and Pocket lining RST, match the position of pocket at both lining pieces together;
· Pin in place.
· Stitch along the rectangle area (ie. The zipper area)
Step 5
· Draw a centre line through both layers of fabric between the two
stitching lines, stopping about 1/2″ from
the rectangle’s short ends.
· Then draw a Y shape at both ends (red line in photo below)
Step 6
· Cut a slit through both layers. Then slowly cut the along the drawn lines
Avoid cutting the sewing line when you reached the Y shape.
Step 7
· When you have the lining on
the other side, pull on the lining and
finger-press the seam to hide the lining part so that it
is not visible from the front side. Warm iron if
required.
Step 8
· Change to zipper foot, edgestitch (SA
1/8”) around the zipper opening (dotted line).
Step 9
· Flip lining panels to the wrong side
· Fold up the pocket piece up
and pin around the top and sides.

Fold the bag lining as shown
in photo
· Stitch the pocket top and
sides with a SA 3/8” as shown in
dotted lines of photos above and right side.
